If you've created a Group but don't want to be in charge of it anymore, you can transfer the Group to another member or delete the Group entirely.
Transferring a Group
Transferring a Group will give the new Owner full permission and control over the Group. You will remain a member of the Group but will no longer have special permissions (you’ll be relegated to the ‘default’ role). There is no way to undo this action (unless they decide to transfer it back to you), so proceed carefully!
- Open your Group and tap the three dots (top right corner)
- From the menu, tap ‘Settings’, and then tap "Transfer Group"
- Select the name of the member you want to transfer the group to (note: if the person you want to transfer the group to is not yet a member of the Group, invite them to join, and once they do, then go through this process)
- Tap "Transfer"
Deleting a Group
This will permanently delete the Group, and all members will be removed. There is no way to undo this action, so proceed carefully!
- Open your Group and tap the three dots (top right corner)
- From the menu, tap ‘Settings’, and then tap "Delete Group"
- Type in the Group’s name (this is a safety precaution to make sure no one accidentally deletes a Group!) and press Delete.
Note: Deleting a Group is permanent and cannot be undone. Please proceed with caution.
