Discovering new Groups
Within the Discover page, the Groups tab is where you find your people! Explore communities built around shared interests and connect with others beyond one-on-one chats.
Once you’re in the Groups tab, you can:
- Scroll to explore recommended Groups
- Tap the magnifying glass icon to search for Groups that interest you
Tap on any Group to learn more about it and join the community! If there aren’t any Groups in your area yet, you can always create your own.
Searching for specific Groups
To search for Groups:
- Tap the Discover icon (along the bottom of the screen)
- You’ll see both People and Groups—tap ‘Groups’ to view Group options
- Tap the magnifying glass icon to open search
- Enter a keyword (for example, an interest, activity, or location)
- Browse the results and tap a Group to see more details or to join
Search works by matching your search terms with a Group’s name, description, tags, and location. Results are then shown based on relevancy.
Can’t find a specific Group you’re looking for?
Not all Groups are discoverable through search. Some Groups are not publicly visible and can only be joined with an invite link.
If you’re trying to join a specific Group, ask a current member to share an invite link with you. From here, you’ll be able to request access or join (depending on the Group’s privacy settings).

Get invited to a group
You can join (or, in some cases, request to join) a group on BFF if someone has shared the Group’s “invite link.”
Once you have an invite, tap the link to join the Group.
If you don’t already have the app, tapping the link will take you to the app store to download BFF, then link you directly to the Group’s main page, where you can tap to join. (If you don't yet have a BFF account, you'll be prompted to create one before joining the Group.)
Invite link not working?
Here are a few things to try:
- Your invite link should look like this: “https://bumble.com/bff/invite” with a series of letters and numbers after (specific to each Group). If your invite link looks slightly different and doesn’t seem to work, you can always ask the person who invited you to go back and press ‘Invite Friends’ from their Group’s side menu and copy the ‘share link’ from there.
- Make sure you’ve downloaded the BFF app and created an account, then try tapping the invite link again.
- Search for the Group in Discover. Tap on the Group name to see its preview, and select ‘join’.
- Make sure you’re not using an expired link. Group owners can reset invite links, so there’s a chance it could be old or expired. Ask the person who invited you for the new link.
Showing Groups on your profile
When you join a publicly visible Group, it will appear on your profile by default. You can choose to hide it from your profile at any time by adjusting your settings.
If a publicly visible Group appears on your profile, other members who can view your profile will see that you’re part of that Group and may be able to visit it directly from your profile. Your profile photo may also appear in the Group’s description to members who see that Group in the Discover section of the app.
Groups that aren’t publicly visible will not appear in Discover and won’t be shown on your profile.
If you join a publicly visible Group that requires approval, it will only appear on your profile once your membership has been approved.
