Reporting someone or something

Reporting a message or post in a Group to the admin

On top of BFF’s Community Guidelines and Platform Use Guidelines, each community on BFF is free to set its own rules or guidelines for its space. If you see something that you believe is a violation of either, you can report the message or post.

To do this:

1. Tap and hold down on a message in a chat room, or a post in a Post room, then tap “more”
2. Choose “Report message”
3. Select the option that best describes your report, and add a short sentence to describe your report
4. Tap "Submit report"
5. We'll review this and take action as appropriate
6. The admin of the Group will be notified of the report. They will be able to review the reported content, read your message, and take actions such as delete the message, and remove or ban the member from the Group.

Note: Someone who is removed from a Group in this way is not removed from BFF as a whole. If you think someone should not be on BFF, you can report the member to our team for review as well.

 

Reporting something to BFF

If you see something happening on BFF that's a violation of BFF's Community Guidelines, you can and should report the issue to us.

You can report a member, a message, a post, or a Group. When you do this, you'll be asked to explain why you think it's breaking the rules.

Reporting a Group

From within the Group:

1. Open the Group
2. Tap the “…” next to the Group’s name.
3. Tap "Report Group"
4. Select the option that best describes your report and add a short sentence to describe your report
5. Tap "Submit report"
6. We'll review this and take action as appropriate

Reporting a member

If someone says or posts something in a Group that violates a Group rule, you can report the message or post to the admin.

You can also report the member to BFF.

1. Open their profile
2. Select the three dot menu in the top right and tap “Report” 
3. Select the option that best describes your report
4. Add a short sentence to describe your report
5. Tap "Submit report"
6. We'll review this and take action as appropriate

Reporting a message in a DM

Since DMs are not within a Group, these go right to us.

1. Tap and hold down on a message in your chat
2. Choose “Report message”
3. Select the option that best describes your report, and add a short sentence to describe your report
4. Tap "Submit report"
5. We'll review this and take action as appropriate
6. You can also block this person from DMing you further.
